One of my favorite poems by Barbara Guest. I’ve always been puzzled over that final word — or half-word — or what? — “rin.” 
It’s that inconclusiveness that keeps the poem active, as if on a continuous loop, a record skipping.

  5. bluesandbarebones said: I could be way off on this but off the top of my head I think the absence of the full round letter “a” leaves the word looking small and thin, a series of short parallel lines like the rain falling. (??) It is puzzling.
